A-level results 2014: Independent schools results table

The table below shows the results of independent schools with fewer than 25 candidates.

The Telegraph independent school league tables are created using data supplied by the Independent Schools Council. Around 50 schools declined to submit results, which means that not every school is listed.

Data submitted by schools to the Independent Schools Council can now be published in these independent, showing the results of 320 independent schools across the country. Only schools with 25 or more candidates sitting A-level or equivalent qualifications are included in the above table. Smaller schools are listed in the table below.

Please note that these are provisional results for exams sat this academic year and do not include re-marks. Therefore, final results may be slightly higher than the figures shown here. were published on August 15.

Results this year saw the proportion of students passing their A-levels .

Figures published on A-level Results Day revealed that 26 per cent of exam papers were graded at least an A this year, down from 26.3 per cent last summer, following a shift towards tougher subjects.

However, despite these figures, it emerged that a record proportion of papers had been awarded an elite A*.

In these A-level tables, Cardiff Sixth Form College has topped the list once again this year, as the best-performing independent school, with an increase in the percentage of pupils at grades A* to A - 93.85 per cent of pupils in 2013 compared with 94.71 per cent this year.

Wycombe Abbey School in High Wycombe, also improved results; coming in second this year - up from fifth in 2013 - with 90.88 per cent of pupils getting grades A* to A at A level.

The table covers A-levels in addition to the International Baccalaureate and the Cambridge Pre-U. Results in the IB and Pre-U are converted into A-level equivalents using the UCAS tarrif point system as a guide.

Higher level 7 and 6 at IB = A* and A at A-level.

Distinction 1, 2, 3 and Merit 1 at Pre-U = A* and A at A-level.
