What happens at a BU Summer Break?

BU Summer Breaks are open to Year 10, 11 & 12 students, applications are now open, the closing date for all applications is Monday 11 April 2016

*April Update – there are still places available for 2016 Summer Breaks, please fill out your application as soon as possible to be considered for a place. If you are unable to get the teacher section completed, do not worry – we will be able to chase this up for you after the closing date *

Our programme of BU (outreach) Summer Breaks are open to eligible students from Bournemouth, Dorset, Poole, Somerset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and beyond.

  • Week 1 – Tuesday 5 – Friday 8 July (For Year 10 & 11 only)
  • Week 2 – Tuesday 12 – Friday 15 July (For Year 10 & 11 only)
  • Week 3 – Tuesday 19 – Friday 22 July (For Year 12 only)

Residential and Non-residential places available on each week, if you live locally and would prefer NOT to stay overnight then we will be able to offer you a non-residential place and arrange your travel to and from BU each day.

Why not get a taste of the University experience for free this July, with four days and three nights at BU?

You’ll become an honorary BU student for the week sampling the wide range of subjects available, from forensic science to advertising, nursing to events management, maybe design and engineering or law are for you? But University is not just about studying there is so much more!

Beach Break Live is an annual Summer Student Festival in the UK started in 2008. Created by founders Celia Norowzian & Ian Forshew, the event received significant capital from investor Peter Jones on the BBC series five, Episode 1 of Dragons Den.
