Oundle boasts many excellent schools in the state and independent sectors.

Then children move up from the primary schools at the age of eleven to Prince William School which was opened in 1971 by Prince William of Gloucester, as simply Oundle Secondary School. It was renamed in honour of the Prince following his death in an air crash the following year. Prince William has a thriving sixth form which take pupils through to higher education.

Of course the town is very well known as the home of Oundle School, a renown public school with day pupils and many boarding houses. Oundle School dates back to 1556 when Sir William Laxton, who was a Lord Mayor of London re-founded the original Oundle Grammer School. Oundle School is now the the third-largest boarding school in the country and won Tatler’s Public School of the Year in 2012.

Oundle is a leading independent school offering co-educational boarding and day education, with entry at 11, 13 or into the sixth form. Currently there are 1110 pupils on roll of whom 655 are boys and 455 are girls.

Prince William School caters for pupils from 11 (Year 7) to 18 (Year 13) and has around 1, 200 pupils in all of which around 300 are in the 6th form.

Oundle Primary School provides education for children aged between four and ten in the Oundle area. There are around 600 pupils at the school from Reception to Year 6.

Oundle Community Pre-School provides a caring and stimulating start to learning for children aged 2 – 4 years old. We are open between 9.15am-12.15pm every term time week day, with daily lunch club running until 12.45pm and have now offer extended hours until 3.15pm on certain days.

To cater for the needs of working parents, we have strong links with local child-minders who can collect children and look after them during the other afternoons.

Lindum Day Nursery operates from a modern purpose-built building in the grounds of Prince William School in Oundle. We are registered with Ofsted to care for up to 43 children up to the age of five and are open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, closing only for bank holidays and for three days between Christmas and New Year.

Since we opened our doors over fifteen years ago, we have built up an outstanding reputation for the quality of our childcare and education. We have worked hard to ensure that the service that we offer is the best available in the area and will always go the extra mile to ensure that your childs experience with us is happy, stimulating and rewarding.
