Leadership Team

Bill Hagen

Mr. Hagen is presently in his third year at Bedford High School. Prior to his employment in the Beford School District he served as the Principal of Salem High School from 2005 until 2010. He was the Principal of the Amherst Middle School (Amherst, NH) from 2000-2005; Assistant Principal of Hudson Memorial School (Hudson, NH) from 1994-2004; and the Assistant Principal of the Iber Gove Holmes Middle School (Raymond, NH) from 1992-1994. A 1980 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, he earned his Master's Degree in School Administration and Supervision from Notre Dame College, Manchester in 1991, and has earned credits toward his Certificate of Advanced Study (CAGS) in School Administration at the University of New Hampshire.

Gary Dempsey

For the 2015-16 school year Mr. Dempsey will be starting his 8th year at Bedford High School. Prior to Bedford Mr. Dempsey spent two years in the Manchester School District as an assistant principal and five years at Nashua High North. Prior to his administrative career Mr. Dempsey spent 11 years as a special education teacher at Pinkerton Academy. Mr. Dempsey earned his B.S. in special education from the University of New England in 1989, and in 2001 he earned his M.Ed. from Rivier University. Mr. Dempsey had the unique opportunity to be part of two leadership teams that opened new high schools (Nashua and Bedford). Each school received the prestigious “ED”ies award as New Hampshire’s highschool of the year Nashua North in (2006) and Bedford in (2013). Mr Dempsey enjoys golfing, coaching, and spending time with family and friends. Mr Dempsey is married to his wife Donna and has two children Ryan and Hannah. Ryan is a chemical engineer in Houston, Texas and Hannah is starting her freshman year at the University of New Hampshire.

Bob Jozokos

Bob Jozokos has his Ed.S. degree through UNH and a Masters in Native American Studies with a concentration in Native American literature from the University of South Dakota. His Bachelors degree is in English with a minor in secondary education from Stonehill College. Mr. Jozokos taught Humanities courses for 10 years before coming to Bedford, the first two years at Raymond High School and eight years at Bow High School. Mr. Jozokos was a member of the Bedford High School Planning Team during the 2006-2007 school year and has been on the BHS Leadership Team since. He is the Advisor of the LARP Club and the Airsoft Club. Mr. Jozokos is married and has three sons, two of which are in high school.

Linda Belmonte

Linda Belmonte graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electrical Engineering and initially worked for Westinghouse in nuclear power safety. She brought her experience into the classroom, teaching mathematics at all levels from pre-algebra through calculus. She has climbed Cardigan with her Jupiter homeroom at the original McKelvie Middle School and worked with the staff and students as the technology teacher. Mrs. Belmonte earned her Masters degree in Teaching with Technology, which has helped her to translate her passion for using technology to enhance education. She was an original member of the Planning Team for the new Bedford High School, developing curriculum and course competencies, and building the math, science, business, FACS and technology departments. She has three children; Pamela, an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University, Christina, an architect in Providence, and Kevin, a computer science engineer in Boston. Her three grandchildren are the latest to share her love for puzzles, building blocks and Legos.

Chris O'Hara

Chris O'Hara comes to us with 16 years of teaching experience and has been at Bedford High School since its inception in 2007. Being one of the inaugural members of the BHS staff, Chris helped design courses using competencies and indicators, and implement both the AP and IB curriculum. Within the Bedford School District, Chris has also been a member of the district Language Arts Vertical Team, a mentor teacher, a member of the 2009 Principal Search Committee, a supervisor for the Summer Curriculum and Technology Institute, and the Advisor for Literary Magazine. Prior to becoming a Bulldog, Chris taught at Londonderry High School and then spent five years in Adult Education at Second Start in Concord, where she designed and instructed a College Transition Program through a grant funded by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation and World Education. Chris attended Boston College, UNH and Franklin Pierce, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Secondary English, and Plymouth State University for her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. When not working, Chris enjoys camping and spending time with her husband, her two boys, who are in middle school, and her daughter, who is a junior in high school.
